Our Speakers Sandra Anderson, Senior English Language Fellow, Peru Before holding her current position as Senior English Language Fellow in Lima, Peru, Sandra Anderson was an ESL Instructional Specialist with the Missouri Migrant Education and English Language Learning (MELL) Program. Previous to her work with the Sate of Missouri, she was a high school ESL teacher. She earned a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Missouri—St. Louis and an M.A. in TESOL at Southeast Missouri State University. Kay Mathews Davis, Regional English Language Officer, Andean Region, U.S. Embassy, Lima, Peru Kay is currently the Regional English Language Officer, RELO, for the Andean Region and works out of the U. S. Embassy in Lima. Before Lima, Kay served as the RELO for Mexico/ Central America and prior to that she was based in Senegal as the RELO for West Africa. She holds a Ph.D. in Education with minors in English and Reading; an MAT in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis on Second Language Acquisition and Reading; and a BA in English, with a TESL Certificate. She has taught all levels of students, from high school dropouts to doctoral candidates. Kay has made numerous presentations at international TESOL conferences and served on the TESOL Professional Development Committee for six years. She has also been a Fulbright Professor in Panama and Costa Rica and directed two national programs for an educational research laboratory. Caroline Linse Caroline Linse is a Senior Lecturer in TESOL at Queen's University, Belfast Northern Ireland where she teaches in both the Master's and Doctoral programs. She is very interested in child centered instruction for young learners and has conducted research and written materials for teachers and learners on this topic. Caroline began her career as a kindergarten teacher in Mexico City and since then has worked with learners and teachers in many different countries including rural Alaska, American Samoa, Latvia, Belarus and Korea. She is a frequent presenter at US and UK conferences and has also given presentations in a variety of countries including Germany, Oman, Bahrain, Peru, Taiwan, and Japan. Caroline Linse is author of Practical English Language Teaching: Young Learners (McGraw Hill-2005). She is also author of two preschool courses, with Elly Schottman, of Fingerprints (Macmillan 2002) and Hats On! (Macmillan 2009). Erin Lowry Erin Lowry is currently a Spanish and ESL teacher in eastern North Carolina. Originally from Ohio, she has a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems and Spanish and a Master's Degree in TESL from the University of Cincinnati. Erin has previous experience working with adult language learners and English language teachers in the U.S., Colombia, and throughout Central America. She has served as a Senior English Language Fellow in El Salvador and Colombia. Marcela Raffo Marcela Raffo is a translator and interpreter from Universidad Femenina del Sagrado Corazón. For more than 15 years, she worked as an English teacher; she was in charge of the English for Business, English for Computers and English for Hotel Management courses at Instituto San Ignacio de Loyola. She was also the English coordinator there. At present, she is the Regional English Language Office Assistant in the US Embassy in Lima. She holds a Diploma on Information Sciences and Management from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru.
